Default Theft... And what they do

i dont know much about thieves and how they work. so.... Im from pottstown pa and my car was stolen yesterday....thieves here for the most part strip them in fields in reading or else go to shops and strip them. What do they do with the parts afterwards.... Is there somewhere i could look for my parts? because my vin was etched into the block, and on the door windows. and in the back of the headlights. I doubt i'll find the car but having an idea of how thieves work im sure could help prevent it for the future.

Watch ebay, and craigslist. They will almost certainly grind your vin off of all the parts.

^ x2.

I'd keep a closer eye on craigslist for different parts of your car that were fairly large that would be difficult to ship, though.

Other then those two sites, how else do they push car parts.... and when a car doesnt come up by the police.... what do they do with the shells? It just bothers me that it got snatched out form under my nose. So if i can find out who did it or even get a lead... ill be happy.

They usually dump the shells, or sell them with no vins and no title.

Otherwise they just sell them in person.

they do rebuild titles, or just dont title the car at all.

Here's the thing, eGay is a car thief's wet dream. You can put your location as being. . . well, where ever you want, and there's no way to follow the parts. Sucks, but this is life.
