because it's not sending out the correct PSI...

and if that's the case i'd return it to pepboys and tell'm you want an exchange... this has happened to me not only once, but 3 times "between myself and a friend" and everytime all we did was change the master cylinder, bleed the brakes, and it went away... I was runnin gsr front an rear brake setups on my coupe and was relying on the stock proportional valve every time an i just kept goin thru master cylinders until i picked up my 91 ex sedan 15/16 m/c than my brakes were glorious...

i adjusted th booster rod to stock specifations but for some reason when putting the master cylinder there was about a 1/4" gap from the master to the booster i had to push it on to go on like the rod was already pushing the master could this be causing my probelm?

hmmm, you shouldnt really have to had adjusted it at all... well if ur M/C isnt faulty i can bet you the problem relies within ur m/c somehow or another... ie - pressure possibly not being enough....
