So ive been running at the track for fun for the last 3 years and would like to start taking things a little more seriously.

right now my car is an 03 civic coupe. intake, exhaust, lowered, 20 shot nitrous.
the nitrous is going to be increase to a 40 shot for a while then possibly a 55 shot.

keep in mind this car is just to play around with. i'm working on doing research for building up a crx to really put in some decent times.

so back to the question. what are your thoughts on the times and ways to improve them?

tires were fairly bald street tires. run at 20psi. i have new tires on my new rims that should help some.

work on your 60 and that should help. other than getting more power.

 

ya obviously the car isnt fast. its just a DD that i like to have fun with. and 87 CRX is the victim for the fast car lol.

i have a real hard time with traction. i've tried launching everywhere from 3 to 5k rpm. nothing seems to help. any thoughts?

 

What tires are you running? Get some drag radials to begin with and that's a start from there you will get an idea of what you need to do.. GL

 

these tires were some rather warn warrior all seasons.

on the 4th i'll run with Kuhmo Ecsta's on my new rims but ive heard they pretty much suck for drag racing.

so my thinking was right that tires is my best bet for my current setup?

He should be fine on regular decent street tires. Going to the track running almost 17's with drag radials is not needed, he doesn't have the power.

 

Hey man i saw you running the other night at the track, is the car spinning or is it bogging on the start?

 

spinning. ive never been able to get traction at the track here.

im going up again on the 4th i think. we'll see what happens then. what were you driving on friday?

 

Ok yeah i would try some new tires with the new track surface give it a few more races but its definately coming around i know 3 people that have broken trannys in there race cars on saturdays so its getting better
