There is a slight grind mainly when downshifting from 3rd into 2nd gear. I have had this same grind when upshifting prolly like 1 in 200 times.

NE ways it will not grind if i wait and extra few sec to let ranny spin down then shift or if i double clutch downshift..

I think it is the synchros sound right? How hard and much is it to replace?

Could be you just need your cluctch adjusted

But most likeley sounds like sycros are going. What tranny you have? That would give us a better idea of how much its gonig to cost

 

89 CRX Si tranny. I adjusted my clutch not sure if it is the corect way but i did. before it would nt spin the tires if i dropped it at 5000 in 1st. No i can go backwards drop it in first and spin. Clutch grabs great now but how would i know if i did it correctly.

 

Do A SEARCH A-HOLE! J/K. I posted this EXACT problem a couple weeks ago. I changed my tranny fluid(as suggested) and the grinding is now less frequent. It actually never happens any more unless I try to down shift when going above 40 or so.

 

what tranny fluid should i use? a heavier one? list me some brands to buy and ill change it tonight

 

HONDA MTF!!!!!!!!!!

 

I called the Honda dealership today and asked to speak with one of their tech guys. I then asked him about what I should put in my CRX SI trany...reg dino, simi-synthetic, Honda MTF, or Fully synthetic. He said that he had been there since 1988 and they have ALWAYS used Penzoil semi-sythetic. This make sence because the Honda MTF IS simi-synthetic. thats my $.02 worth of info.

 

i had the same grind, i put in honda mtf and my grinds are all gone
mind u.. i didnt change my fluid for over 100,000km's with 2 trips to toronto and back.. so its my own fault
