turn signal problem
What's up everybody i need some help, i have a 90-91 accord 4dr...anyhow, having turn signal problems. The relay keeps clicking while driving or in idle, pretty much as long as the car is on the turn signal relay or flaher unit keeps clicking. I know when a relay clicks its working properly but it doesn't stop clicking. Turn signals work fine, hazards fine, all the lightings are fine...etc. Well first thing i did was replace th relay, just thought maybe the original relay was going bad... well, NOPE! just as i thought nothing wrong with the relay. Next i followed all the wiring harness under the dash, and steering column, trying to find a short..nothing found. so, the next thing i did was remove the turn signal lever, i opened it up carefully and all the parts stayed intacted, it was really greasey and dirty. So i thought that was the problem, so instead of buying a new one i cleaned it up and reinstalled. Guess what? problem is still the same. Next thing i did was pretty much break it down step by step. used a volt meter checked the bulbs, exterior wiring, etc. disconncted the left front turn signal "cause the wiring looked shady".... and the relay stopped clicking. So found out what was causing the short, but now i'm runinng test runs... i have right front and rear turn signals(passenger side) all four does signal on hazards and no left front and rear signals, but front left (driverside) will signal if hooked up rear will not. I dunno whatelse could it be... Maybe replace the turn signal lever and start from there..... can someone help me out? tell me what is wrong?
