Default Spun bearing rod through block.Rebuild?Replace.

I recently did this to my poor civic. thought shed make it a few miles down the road.
What my questions are.
1.Can I easily tear down the engine and rebuild it with new rods pistons block and head maybe all from a a2 and use the a1 bottom end?
2. Would it be easier and more cost effective to just rip out the a1 and put in a a2 complete.
What im worried about is the engine being off balanced buy these parts.

another motor from the junk yard is $350 to 500. It would be more than that to machine and rebuild the old one.

Who knows what caused it. I don't use additives, I don't even use synthetic oil. No point. A lean condition from boost will do it every time. Check out http://www.car-part.com there are d17 motors a dime a dozen everywhere. [freak] 1k for that.

Change what out? The internals? There are tools you need and things you have to do. It isn't a simple 3 hour job.

If you're referring to the swap, its pretty straight forward. Drain and undo everything, then reverse. Thats oversimplified, but its just nuts, bolts, hoses and the wire harness.

you spun a bearing rod through the block? what on earth does that mean? You spun a rod bearing, a crank bearing or literally launched a rod through the block as a result of a spun bearing that seized?
either way, i bought a d17a1 in PA for $350 picked up from a junk yard with 16k miles (certified). like andy stated.. http://www.car-part.com is your best bet.

literally launched a rod through the block as a result of a spun bearing that seized.
It started knocking and i didnt drive it for a few days and it had to be moved Asap due to a crazy bitch throwing stuff off my deck.
drove it for a few mins at 55mph, and she the "D17" just said clunk clunk.
buddy said he saw some parts come out the botttom behind me. from what ive removed so far i can see a hole in the block on the fire wall side. number one pistion, with a little metal id tag folded out.
