No oil? killed engine
Hi
Just wanted some info. If my engine oil disappeared from my car and subsequently the engine died. Would it be just the crank that i would have damaged in my engine or anything else with it?

cant really tell till you take it apart...... could be a number of things..... spun rod bearings, spun crank bearings, piston locked in sleeve, cam ground into head, etc.
would the rods any how be damaged??and what can i look for when i take it apart. Im not bothered about the cranck but im hoping the manley rods and CP pistons arnt damaged. and the fully built head
if you spun a rod bearing then there is a very strong chance that rod is scarred up pretty bad and if you locked a piston up good enough there is a chance a that rod could be bent a lil bit also
sounds like its time to take it apart and see what damage is done......... how did it run out of oil in the first place? sounds very careless especially for such an expensive engine

Well i think it was burning oil but i think its not what caused it as it was only sipping small amounts. I bought a Moroso pan that was more or less stock size. I didnt think i required a different oil pick up but anyway i think thats what caused it.
