Default Cooling problem

Another cooling problem on a 97 SH. I recently put my turbo on but now that summer is here. I have a problem with overheating. The system works find as long as I get decent air flow. If I'm on the freeway with the A/C on it runs great but once I stop it starts to get hot. Now I run 2 10" slim fans. Before the turbo this engine had no problems in 110+ temps. Now I know there is no air in the system and the engine in good condition and the radiator is new. What I think is going on is that once the intercooler gets hot, the system can't handle the extra heat. I was looking into a) bigger fans, B) Turbo shielding, or a bigger intercooler (mine is only 27" W 8" H 3" D) the line of thinking on the intercooler is that the heat is being contrating in that small area and a bigger one would destribute the heat a little better. With the radiator I was thinking about a half size one but unsure about that as of yet. any suggestions on those that have a turbo 5 gen.

If anything, the IC is blocking airflow going through the radiator. Maybe try some creative ducting to direct the air to go through the radiator more efficiently.

make sure your fans are blowing in the proper direction. if its overheating while your sitting still its the fans or the ect switch for the fans.

also, make sure that your plastic splash shield is in place, otherwise all the air coming through the bumper will go right out the bottom instead of through the radiator.

he says its overheating while sitting still, this means the fan is not functioning properly. its as simple as that.

you said you have 2, 10" slim fans, are they pushing or pulling,(Im going to assume that they are working) and did you make a shroud for the fans? If there is no shroud, the fans may just be pulling air from around themselves, rather than through the radiator.

The fans are against the radiator. I 90% sure the fans are switch polarity right, but I will double check. No just to make sure what I'm talking about its mainly about. It gets hot when the A/C is on. Granted it will get hot over time if sitting at idle for a while with A/C off but with A/C on it gets hot fast. I was looking into if I could build ducting out of fiberglass, going from the top grill down to the bottom of the radiator but that would take sometime and there are things in the way. Any 5gen turbo runners out there? Wanted to know what they are running.
