POSSIBLE BAD COIL
i checked the wires, plugs, compression test, map sensor, and for all boost leaks.. everything checks out good.. its a 94 integra b16 swap with a gt30r.. 2 days ago my buddy drove my car and when to shift from 3rd to 4th and hit second by accident. it over reved real bad and broke the VSS, but now when ever the car is under load, the boost breaks up.. this is the only other thing i can think of. also checked the turbo, its fine.. if anyone can give any sugg. it would be a lot of help.. thanks everyone
i checked everything for leaks.. so you don't think its a coil.. because since it happened, its got a shitty idle to it.. and everyone i've talked to said that when honda's over rev, all that power gets back to the distibutor and blows out the coil.. that would explain the bad idle and if the coil wasn't giving enough spark under load it would break up right???, also if i ease into the gas, i can get about 10 pounds out of it before it breaks up, the ecu is set for 17psi and the waste gate is 9.. even running off the waste gate it still does it... thanks
Buying parts and using that as a way to find a problem can become kinda expensive. As the guys have said,
1) Check your timing (Mechical and with a Timing light) if that all checks out,
2) Compression Check
3) Leakdown Test
If all the above check are fine this will eliminate alot of possiables,
On the coil thing I have never heard that before sounds like some BS.
Have you pulled you plugs?

probably the shitty msd coil. mine failed on my turbo Integra conveniently while i was trying to sell it with only about 5k on the coil. it would break up in boost real bad and had a misfire at idle. i would say go back to stock ignition and see if that fixes it
Do you have the stock coil inside the dizzy still? If so then bypass the MSD coil and try that before buying a new one.
A leakdown test is best to check as I think you may have bent a valve or some valves actually

yeah like i've said i've done the leakdown test, checked the plugs and everything.. the coil is stock i'm pretty sure.. i ordered a msd coil... because like i said i heard alot of people saying that it goes like 94teg said.. ha but apparenly msd coils are shitty ha

You stated above that you did a compression test and you checked for leaks, that is not a Leakdown test . You need to use a Leakdown tester with compressed air, it will determine if you have bent valves

oh ok sorry about that.. i was confused. ok well ill do the leakdown test and hopefully its not the valves.. i just don't understand how i can still hit 10psi easing into the gas but not hit 17.. becuase wouldn't the car run shitty if the vlaves where bent.. the car rights fine normally, and when boosted alittle it seems like it had all the power it did before.. it just only does it at full throttle

ok put the new coil in today and absolutly nothing changed.. but i think i know what it is now.. the 2 step that i have on the car, i can put it to wahtever rpm, then punch it and the 2step will go.. but since my v.s.s is broken, it always reads at 0 mph.. so when i totally go wot, i think the 2 step goes off... becuase at any other throttle position i can hit boost fine.. any one have any other suggestions??? by the way are the vss's really like 400 bucks??? anywhere i can find one cheaper????
Junkyard? Your VSS was used, so why would another used VSS be such a bad idea? You can tell instantly if its bad, and 2-3 used VSS's are far cheaper than a new part.
Also a cheap ebay leakdown tester isn't that expensive. Have your friend buy it for you, and test it out. Either that or have him buy the VSS. In my world, if you break it, you buy it!

Glad you got it solved! How much did the VSS cost you ?
