Default Mustang throttle body question

I did a search and found nothing. Someone posted about using an 86-93 BBK 70mm throttle body on a GSR........has anyone done it and what is involved in making it work? Thanks!

done it along time ago it simple to make it work but its easier to do it on custom intake manifolds. ITs very hard to make it match up on a stock intake manfiold

u either need to make an adaptor plate to make it fit or u can weld a flange onto the current manifold (with or without cutting the old flange off) u just have to be creative with it... and have the machinery to do it... im gonna be makeing one for mine and if there is a demand i could make more... if there is an intrest let me know... ill make one and see how much work is involved as i make everything by hand (no CNC machine for me... unlike others! i wish i had one!)

oh... but its not exactly made by hand... i use machinery

If I saw a pic, I could probably make one for myself, but I would also probably buy one if it was available. Do you have to get rid of your stock intake pipe, i.e. drag pipe, and get a bigger one? That 70mm TB is huge!!!!!

Would you need the EGR plate also?

Thats excactly what i did way back when... tb were expensive for hondas and mutangs ones are cheap used and new.. under 100 bucks for used 70mm tb.

you can even go larger to 76mm tb but i dont think it really flows any better. You might gain approx 5-10hp at max with larger tb at the same boost level

in the next month or so Edelbrock is bringing out their 70mm and 75mm tb's and their new cylinder heads for Hondas. I would wait as they will be available right after the SEMA show.
