motor blew ..... HELP?!!!
alright .... this really sucks . I just put on a garret 30r and was dynoing my s2000 .... then it blew the dipstick out , white smoke came from all around the car and from behind the motor .... now im trying to figure out whether it was the piston rings or head gasket .... any help ?

Smoke all around the car? Maybe you blew off a coolant hose....I'd check that idea out. The dipstick thing sounds like cracked ringlands, but like everybody else said, you have a turbo car now, time to step it up and get use to fixing things on your own (ie, disassemble the bitch and figure it out for yourself) rather then posting rather vague facts and expecting somebody on the internet to tell you exactly whats wrong.

i hate this whole "white smoke= steam" thing.
This is the ONLY way to tell the difference between oil smoke and coolant burning:
Oil smoke will LINGER. Coolant smoke will 'evaporate' or disappear, and coolant burning will have a sweetish smell to it.
If the dipstick blew, sounds to me like you cracked a ringland, blew a ring, and compressed air got into your crankcase.
Good luck dude.

ok, step one - do a compression test.
step 2 - leakdown
regardless you will have to take off the head = step 3
replace piston rings with the info from compression test.
possible valve damage - found through leakdown test
take off oil pan and windage tray - look at rods
in the beginning you should definitely look at oil as said above see if there are metal shavings or scraps. big chunks will most likely get stuck in the windage tray but use a magnet to get chunks out of the oil that drains or strain it.
minimal damage is head gasket -
but it could be a lot worse especially since ur pcv must not have been working since it launched ur dipstick or if there was so much pressure ur pcv couldnt release it in time.
good luck and pm me if u need any more info
or any guy on here im sure. except u jk
