Default set timing but dizzy so far retarded?

just set the b20-vtec timing as i got a new dizzy for her.

placed the dizzy mid way, let her walm all the way up, bridged the ignition jumper wire near the fan blower, pluged the light wire onto lead no 1 (one nearest the timing belt) and got the timing gun out and set it so the belt cover marker was in line with the red dot on the crank pully.

thing is i had to retard the dizzy SO far to do it, the light says it is firing spot on, but the dizzy is almost rotated all the way towards the rad (it has about 2mm left before it hits its max ajustment point)

seem normal to you? on all my other cars it normally only has needed moving a few mm from the center line?
