You don't have to lower the compression ratio. It's not any more work to boost a B16 that it is to boost any other B-series.

you can run low boost on a stock b16 without a problem. weakest part of the stock motor as we all know is the piston rings.

depending on how much power you want will determine how much money you spend.

Always remember,
cheap-reliable-fast
you can only have two

Cheaper, stronger rods, better for higher RPM's, makes less power/PSI.

Personally I like a B16 for a low boost (250 or so WHP) daily driver. I have one that I built sitting in my shop that I'm going to drop in my CRX one of these days.

Also, check out the article below, it gives a realistic perspective when comparing a B16 and a B18, about halfway through the article he explains how, yes the B16 makes less torque but still makes comparable power to the B18 but you have more usable power that can be put to the ground due to less wheel spin. I might actually start another thread to see what other think about this article as well.

$200 for a turbo setup does not sound like something i'd be willing to run on my car. Hell, the cheapest part of my turbo setup (ie: bov, wastegate, injectors, etc) are all over $200. I'd be a little hesitant at that price.
