cluster, tailight and side marker issue
i drive a 93 ej2 or civic dx
so i was told i could wire my side markers to be on with my corner lights and also blink when signaling. so i wired the side markers to the corners like this
black to the ground wire, red to the power and also green wire. which i guess is a no no. before i had it just wired up to the red power wire and just always on..
so i did that then tried to turn on my lights and heard a pop or two.
right now my cluster doesn't work or light up. no speedo, fuel, or heat temp guage works, i can't signal, my corners domn't light up and my tailights don't work.
i looked for some of the fuses under the dash but i don't have a cover and don't know what fuses go to what. and help? thanks

Definitely some fuses popped. I don't have my hayne's with me, but I'll take a look around for you.
In the meantime, you can see if you can find the fuses that are burned out.
EDIT: I win, found it for you. Here's a page from the FAQ's with diagrams for our under dash fuse boxes.

EDIT EDIT: Take a look down the page under the 1992-95 civics. #15 and #19 especially look interesting

well went out into my 110 degree heat to climb under my dash and turns out that my 15 and 19 fuses are blown!
go figure
but my 19 had a 20 amp fuse and on the diagram it says 10a.
so should i go out and buy a 10 for it?
stupid question what happens if you use a different ampere rating for a fuse?

Haha, what are the odds?
Anywho, apparently someone did some improper work. Specific fuses are in specific places in order to keep your wires from melting and frying. Then you'll really have a mess. Let's hope that didn't happen before the fuses popped.
Now that you've come across said improper fuse, I say yes, do go get a 10 for it so you're not risking electrical problems down the road.
PS- make sure you disconnected the wiring that was the cause of the short. I burned out a brand new replacement fuse once because I was hot and wasn't thinking things through.

edit-------
so i bought the two 10 amp fuses i needed for 15 and 19, which got my speedometer, turn signals, fuel guage, temp guage back and working but right now i can't tell if the lighting for the guage cluster are working, and my parking lights for the corners, and tails still aren't working.
any other input? thanks

the guage cluster lighting and parking lights are the only things that aren't working now, but i can't seem to figure it out. none of the bulbs are burned out, all the fuses underneat the driver dash are good.
anyone have any ideas?

You may now have to check your wiring. However unfortunate, it's possible that because of that jacked 20 amp fuse, your wiring has suffered from the short, and could have fried.
