whats the difference between 96-00 ex/so and dx exhaust?
I'm thinking if buying a 96 dx apexi exhaust for a good deal. Its for a dx coupe but I'm puting it on a 96 hatch with an ex motor. I know I would have to modify the axel section it it were an ex coupe exhaust. But I notice the dx has a different part number. Whats the difference.

This has been covered so many times.
A DX has the cat in front of motor as a single unit in the exhaust manifold. The midpipe is longer as a result.
The EX/SI has the cat under the car, and a shorter midpipe. Rear mufflers are usually the same.

it will work if you use a test pipe and modify the axel section I use to have a coupe and now I got a hatch which has my coupe exhaust on it looks flawless
i just jacked the car up and mocked up the exhaust and its really weird. the cat has 3 bolts where the midpipe has 2. but if i were to remove the cat, then this exhaust would bolt right up to the header. its alligned perfecty, im so confused. the car does have a d16y8 in it, and the exhaust manifold does NOT have a cat in it. i dont get it. so the short of it is, i think i will just have to modify the axle back section, but it looks like its going to be a pain in the ***. ill have to take it to a good muffler shop i guess.
