Default need help on d16z6

alright i just got done rebuilding my motor got it in the car when to fire it up and it started then died right away went back and noticed timing was off on the crank so i tried to get it the best i can to be correct and now it fired up only its was running funny the rpms on the gauge were crazy up and down from 500-2000 or so and it kinda seemed like it was misting idk the exhaust was to loud for me to hear and my g/f was listening to it i just saw what it was doing and shut it right off...

now im thinking maybe its still the timing off just by a tooth or two i checked in my book and tried to find what it was doing and it only said that it could be a vaccum leak or the compression is off but i have low compression pistons in 8:5:1 for the turbo set up ill be putting on later this summer

any ideas will be a big help
thanks!

check you idle air control valve solenoid. clean it and make sure it plugs in all the way when you put it back. also check for vaccum leaks... a vaccum leak will cause your idle to flucuate like that..

Yes you can plug in the spark plug WIRES the wrong way. I would do that 1st since that is the easiest fix. You have to make sure the WIRES are going to the correct cylinder. You cannot just randomly put the wires anyway you want.

well just trust me they can only fit on one way cuz of the size of each one and it is correct ive checked just in case but i went and re-did the timing and set it perfectly and when i started it it ran fine for a split second and the the rpms started to bounce a lil bit then it sounded like it wanted to die this motor has been nothing but trouble since it over heated and i tried to rebuild it and handle boost im about to just say screw it and put the motor up for sale and someone else can buy it and figure out what they want to do with it and ill just put another in and call it a day b/c i have no idea what im doing wrong i did everything by the book and im still having problems and its been over 4 months now and i need my car running bad

if any one lives around fort myers florida and would like to help me out let me know please ill pay ya please any one
