Default floating piston wrist pin clip question

on the JE pistons, is there a particular trick to putting the wrist pins on? I used alot of pressure and a screwdriver. I did scratch the piston a bit but in that location it really shouldn't matter.

Someone told me you should clock the clips to up or down. Is that really necessary? I can't imagine them moving anywhere!

what kind of rods are these pistons going on to? stock rods with aftermarket pistons need to have the wrist pins punched in, shouldnt need the clips.

The clips are a lot sronger than you think they are! Start at one end of the clip and work it spirally into the clip relief with a small screwdriver. Keep pressure on it at all times until it is in or it will simply pop back out & you will have to start it again. The first 1-2 will give you a headache, but the rest will happen easily & quickly! Good luck!
