Default Floating wrist pin question...

Yesterday when I put my wiseco pistons onto my eagle h-beam rods, the first pin slid in fairly easily and after locked in place everything slide around nicely.

Then the other 3 were a bit of a pain. I had to force the pins in pretty hard by hand then once I locked them in the pin only moves in the piston and the rod doesn't slide on them unless i smack the side of the piston with my hand to force it over. This doesn't seem right to me, is this normal and will it work itself in or is there something else going on.???

I lubed up the pin and the rods and the pistons good prior to putting the pin in with assembly lube. Maybe I should just use oil instead of the assembly lube for them?

Any experiences with this would be appreciated...

The pins should fit easily in the pistons with some light oil. Sometimes the pins into the rods can be a little tight. You should be able to work them lose by hand.

Hrmm k I'll try taking them apart and using some light oil instead...

They slide into the pistons fine it's just moving in the rod that seems a little stiff.

Thanks

Hit the rod bushing with some scotch brite (lightly)
Better tight than too loose.

I'd also look for any burs on the pin bushing edges. Hitting those with a scotch pad (if there are any) will help.

A little scotch brite on the edges and removed a slight burr on the lip, and used some light oil, and it slides back and forth perfect.

15mins of work later everything is as should be. Thanks guys

BTW: I wish more people would post after the problem has been fixed or finished, you never see what solved the problem on alot of posts..
