Default Car overheating after Water pump change?

Okay its overheating but very oddly. It like only overheats when the fan turns on or Im sitting still, but it seems to be okay when I drive, except every now and then and I have to turn on the heat. Im thinking air might be trapped. I drained my radiator and was surprised when I took off the water pump that a huge amount of antifreeze still came out.

So is it air just trapped or is my Water pump bad? It better not be its brand new oem but I did drop once so maybe Im [freak]ed.

Oh yea heat bull blast is keeping it at normal temp on a 100 degree day so this is really strange. Im kinda lost here.

did you get all the air bubbles out of the system? that could be a reason why it is over heating cuz mine was doin it for the longest time too then i changed the theromstat and what pump

probably needs bleeding, thres a screw bleeder on the hose up front, or run it till normal temp with the rad cap off, then top it up and replace the cap.

Thought thats what it was because i remembered similiar when I change the thermostat. Thanx for the help. Right after I posted I went out, filled my radiator to the top and no more probs. Just some air in there like I originally thought.
