Default Major Issue: Wire short

Car wouldnt start on me today here is what happend:

I turn the key to the on position and hear the fuel pump. I turn the key to start and rather than hearing the starter I hear the fuel pump pump more at me. I was completely confused and messed around with stuff such as my tune/ostrich/chip and dizzy and starter. I 'think' this issue was with the dizzy connection which I fixed up.

When I completed this I plugged the battery back in to find my car power on instantly... Turbo timer was ON, fan is on, check engine light, gauges, oil light, battery light, fuel pump, everything.

I started unplugging: Dizzy no effect. main relay stopped the fuel pump/injectors. I then noticed electrical tape on an injector wire melted and pulled them. I pulled the ECU with no effect.

What wires are involved here that would power on the above accessorys?

EDIT: I have done a wire "tuck" on this car and had not had a problem until I was messing around with the dizzy wires today.

When I say everything powers on... I mean without the key in or anything. I dont want to leave it on long enough to check the CEL since something will surely light on fire.

I found the short to be the starter power cable. Fixed it and am now dealing with new issues. Or maybe they are related to the original.

When I turn the key to the ON position the pump primes but does not stop. I cant figure out what the problem is. I am thinking fried ECU or main relay. Any other ideas?

Take the main relay out and see what happens, if that solves the priming issue then get a main relay from the junk yard and go from there.

nothing with happen at all with the main relay out. It and the ECU tell the FP what to do. Im gonna have to find working parts to switch in.I cant do that till tomorrow.

I popped out the main relay. Its all melted to ****.

Anyone else experiencing a similar problem: Short at the starter can melt your main relay and cause it to prime and not turn off.
