on my 93 civic lx it has the symptoms of a bad main relay. run to the store, let it sit for 10 minutes and then won't start until it cools down. put it in gear and get about 5 ft and stalls then won't start. but the relay clicks and the fuel pump primes, so what could be causing it? by not starting, i mean that after the fuel pump primes, nothing happens, no cranking or anything. could it still be the fuel pump even though it's turning on? is the relay fine because it clicked and sent power to the pump? what do you think guys?

Sounds like a battery or starter problem. Start by cleaning the battery posts and connectors, as well as the ground wire connection in the engine bay, with steel wool. Also have the battery checked at your auto parts store.

If the problem persists, concentrate on the starter. First check whether the starter motor gets battery voltage on the wire directly from the battery and whether the other wire to the starter solenoid gets battery voltage when the key is turned to ON(III). If the starter gets power on both wires but doesn't crank, then replacing the starter will likely fix the problem.

Had same problem in my DA, its the main relay.

Main relays are hard to track down if their bad, cause one minute they work the next minute they don't.

So you end up going on a wild goose chase and replace everything when theirs no need to, start with the main relay its $79.99 at Honda before tax. Also honda has changed the part numbers on all their main relays, so consider the new one "new and improved" if you will.
