fuel pump wont prime,suggestions?
Ive already put a main relay in(honda oem). the car will start fine and then today I went to start it and that whirring sound from the pump was not there. pulled the neg. off the battery and replaced after 30 sec. it cranked. now the pump will prime if I leave the key turned over for a while , its the pump I think. Ive got a new holley 255lph coming monday .what do yall think?
Well if you rule ot the M/R then it must be somthing in the wiring. Depending on what Y/M/M you car is I think there are some factory fuel pumps that are self grounding and that could be the problem. A good suggestion would be when you hook up the new fuel pump check out the wires and connections if they look bad that may be the problem. When you wire in the new one do it right so you wont have to do it again. Then test the old one to see if it was just faulty. If it was the car should start.
