alright guys here is one for you.
ok i have a 96 gsr. got the gsr block and a b16 head. it started smoking a little bit ago and now whenever i rip on it, it puts coolent into my radiator resovor. cant figure out why. i think its a blown headgasket but not sure. do i have other problems? thanks for looking. please help
i dont rip on it all the time just to see if thats what makes the water go in the resevor. and i did a comp test and it was
1=195 2=195 3=195 4=200
have not done a leakdown yet. next on the list. just seeing if anyone had any imput. got a big trip coming up and need my car to be running right. so i was trying to get anyhelp from all the H-T people to fix it.

thanks captain obvious. was not asking how slow it made it. but since you brought it up its better for boost BTW. now back on topic. could it be a bad water pump? i donno im just really puzzled.

i wasn't trying to be an ******* but some ppl seriously dont realize that, but anyway i would think its a blown headgasket because it seems like something is blocking the flow of the coolant into the water passages causing it to go into the overflow

yeah sorry for soundsing like that. just get it alot. lol but yeah the weird thing is when i t starts to overheat it does not take any of the water back from the resivor. so i i run out of water causing the overheating. i donno guess i will just pull the head and see what i can find. need to change some stuff anyways. oh and i was wondering. if i rip on it it does not start smoking until vtec. could that be bad valve seals?

what color smoke?
what color smoke?
light blue. meaning blue and white. it smokes cause the head i think. i took it off a boosted b16 so i think the valve seals are bad. i dont have water in my oil or oil in my water. i dont have oil in the combustion chamber. so if its a headgasket its a wierd one.
Did you put the correct head gasket on??(I'm not taking you for an idiot, I had the wrong one sent to me for my swap and probably wouldn't have realized it if I didn't have a stock one sitting next to it...) I know different head gaskets may close coolant holes up

probably valve seals.

yeah i put the stock one and the new one together to make sure they were the same. i hope its just a headgasket and valve seals / valves. just not the guides...... those are a bitch.
two words......RADIATOR CAP. hahahahhaahhahahahahahahha thats what caused all the fuss. oh well changing the valve seals to hopefully get rid of the smoking. thanks for your imput guys
