Default B16 block, gsr head questions

New to the Honda world and have some questions on this swap, I'm doing a b16a block with forged internals, 8:2:1 weisco pistons, with a gsr head.

1. The block is bored .20 over, I heard I can just use a stock head gasket, what do you think?

2.also do I need gsr head studs or b16?

3. Will the gsr head directly bolt on or will I have to tap anything?

I'm sure these questions have been answered before on here but I can never find a straight answer without people arguing. I just want a straight response please

b16 head studs

Newp, you need the B16 studs. GSR and other B18/B20 blocks have a taller deck height than B16's.

...I'd also go with more compression if you haven't already purchased the 8.2:1 pistons.

you match the studs to the block

Yes, in 2017... with so many quality engine management choices... there is absolutely NO reason to go with a compression ratio that low. It just makes for a really lazy engine when not in boost.

I went to a machine shop and that's what they reccemended me to. I figured since I'm running a gsr head also it bumps up the compression. What else can I do to raise the compression?

Take your stuff to another machine shop... that one is stuck in the '90s. Lower compression was a way to help make an engine live when advanced tuning platforms didn't exist. So if you intend to use stock fuel injectors, a stock ECU and a rise rate FMU... then listen to the machine shop. If your plan is to use larger fuel injectors, a tuneable engine management system and a big fuel pump... then you can safely use more compression in the engine when professionally tuned.
