EF timing belt
well i was driving home a few days ago and luckly about 5min away from my house my timing belt snapped. in the process tearing apart my lower timing belt cover so now i have to wait and order one from a dealer.
my problem is that the timing belt i got at autozone doesnt seem to fit. i loosened the tensioner pulley and slid it along its track to give the new belt some slack to fit but i cant even put this damn thing on using a screwdriver for leverage.
i guess what im asking is for someones technique...lower pulley first then upper or the other way around? i dunno it kinda sucks just wanted some input.
thanks

afternoon bump!!
quick question...i keep reading "turn belt 3 teeth counter clockwise" but what im asking is where is the starting point for these teeth to turn from?
i know what the teeth are and i get how turning the crank is used for tensioning but do where do the teeth turn from? the TDC mark?

I always start on the bottom first and work my way up.
I don't really trust the aftermarket (autozone/napa/carquest) belts, but that's based on no real world experience, just hear say and speculation.
