Rear Hatch Not Opening...
Strangest thing, last night the hatch worked fine, but today I tried to open it, and all I hear is a motor spinning, and the hatch not opening.
Any ideas? Linkage broken?
I searched and couldn't find anything useful. Any input is greatly appreciated.

basically there are 2 things that can fail here...the unlock switch and the unlock actuator. if you can hear a relay click when you toggle the switch, then its the actuator. if you dont hear any relay click when you toggle the switch, its the switch. since you say you hear the motor spinning, i assume that its the actuator.
i hoard these things from our local junk yard because they break so often. i've also found that the switches can get really DIRTY with dust and crap, which can cause them to not work as well. a simple scrub down usually fixes that.
this design was a nice enhancement over the 94-97 trunk "pop" lever in the cabin, but honda didnt finally get it right until the DC5.

I greatly prefer the manual version

me too. my '00 has the lever in the cabin and IMO it's far superior to that silly thing under the lip
