HELP rear hatch prolem on 98 teg.
the problem is the my rear hatch does'nt open when its unlock. Everytime i go to unlock the rear hatch every door unlocks but when i pull the lever in the rear hatch it doesnt want to open. Ill have to put the key hold it open then pull the lever. Im tired of this anyone knows the problem?
Mine has been sticky like that for years. I'm pretty sure its a common problem. I don't know how to fix it. I just either unlock it from the back with the key, or sometimes I get lucky and the lever actually unlocks it
ironic that i was looking for this yesterday... but i couldn't find anything in regards to the problem using "hatch problem issue door" it works on my 98, but the 96 which doesn't have the level has been sticky during the winter months... i don't know if it's just the weather that it's causing it to stick or if i have to adjust the cable or what. please advise.

There is a cheaper fix on here, to replace the motor for the actuator, ~$3 instead of $60. Someone posted it about 6-8 months ago, can't recall the thread name/search currently...

You'd think that a forum with so many god damn sponsors might be able to make a search function work properly after 10 expletiveing years... but no. we ban old members that actually contributed valuable information instead...

Happend to me b4. You can hear the actuator come on when you release the lever, but nothing happens. Once in a while you get lucky and it opens for you...All i did was replaced it with a new actuator and it did the trick.
I'll actually give advice which has worked for me...
Spray the f uck out of it with WD40 and move the lever rapidly for a few minuets.I mean drench it to the point where it's dripping all over the place. When I do this it seems to hold off the sticking for at least a year or so.
Don't buy anything til you try this. really.

Good day. Sorry I'm years behind in this thread. But I have a dilemma that I'm trying to fix. I have a 2005 Honda fit and I can't get the trunk (hatch) to lock. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help? Also, my ignition key doesn't even unlock all the doors, just the driver door. I have to manually lock and unlock the other doors. A y suggestions on how I can fix this? Thanks in advance
