x3 on Ignition Switch (electrical portion)

Word of WARNING If you have air bags and go to change the electrical part of the ignition switch be very CAREFUL around the ribbon cable that attaches the SRS unit. The connectors are easy to disturb.

My bet is the 'ignitor' which is a module that lives inside the distributor. Your symptoms are very similar to what my car had when my ignitor was on the way out. Ignitors are killed by old age, and also by high resistance in the HT leads, so get those checked.

its the ignitor unit in the distributor, Chances are oil is leaking into there and it fried it.
