so i recently replaced my mani with a ported blox mani and now my car idles at 2k when cold and 1.5k when warm... damn thats way too high for me. i check and adjusted the timing and throttle and thats the BEST i could get it... damn my timing right now IS perfect too right now too... good power in the lower rpms (for a b16) and great top end... damnit.

i replaced my sensor in the back of the mani with a gsr one because apperantly my old one was bad. def works better with the new sensor but it stil revs too damn high. anything i could check and or fix to get it down or am i gonna have to screw up my timing to get it down.

also i heard that with a bigger and ported throttle body its normal that it does that...

have you checked ur vacuum lines that none are cut/tore and are going to the proper locations.

 

Sounds like you have a gasket problem on the manifold or idle air valve, allowing air to seep in after the throttle body and creates a lean mixture at idle thus increasing the idle rpm's, or you messed the throttle position sensor (TPI) or even simpler, forgot to plug it back in. There's an easy check for inlet gasket leaks, get a propan torch and turn in in really low, don't light it, then poke it all arround the manifild gaskets with the engine running and listen/watch for rpm changes. Keep it well away from the actual air intake filter, make sure you have all inlet air hose clamps tight too. Oh, you might also check you didn't re-install the throttle cable too tightly pulling on the butterfly. Is the computer generating a Check Engine Light ? (CEL) , it should if it's way too lean, if not, it may just be the mechanical throttle cable or linkage it too tight.

What throttle body do you have?

 

ported blox throttle body

 

I had a similar problem with my BDS throttle body and S2 mani...double check your vac lines and make sure you TPS is set to the correct voltage...odds are its one of those 2 but you can also check your throttle cable (make sure its not to tight) and the stop screw for the butterfly (make sure the butterfly closes all the way)
(mine was the TPS)

also as you said the bigger TB's do typically idle higher around 1200 RPM
