does it matter which port you use to get the oil to return and drain on the turbo?

the oil feed line (oil pressure line) goes on the side with threads (fitting threads into turbo) make sure you run the oil lines vertical, with the feed line on top, the drain will have a threads also but will have 2 bolt holes to bolt a drain tube hopefully that helps
