Default civic hx swap?

hey guys, with the higher fuel prices im thinking of swapping motors to something more fuel economical. Anyways i have a 97 civic CX hatchback right now and i was thinking of the Civic HX swap. Only problem is that there is no civic HX motors kicking around up here in Canada. Would a civic VX swap be just as good?
any help would be great!

I don't think the return would be worth it. The CX is pretty thrifty as it is. Modify your driving habits

Was there an equivalent to the HX motor in a JDM version? that may be easier to find

Why not just pick up an HX top end and throw it on any obd2 bottom end (mini-me style)?

Cause you know I have an HX head/intake/ecu/dizzy I wanna sell ya!
