Default 97 Civic HX - b18 or b16 swap?
I am not sure if this is the right place but I am looking at swapping the motor out of my Hx soon.(well kinda being forced do to my sparkles) And I am looking for any insight on which motor to go for the b18 or b16.

You'll need to describe your goals.

Also please browse the FAQs sticky. There's a lot of swap information there.

If you decide to take the B18 option, the Hybrid forum is a better fit for this thread.

If you are going to buy a B, get a B18C B18C1 or B18C5.
