Default Need help with rotor removal..please.!

so a few of you helped me identify my transmission because i need to replace my clutch.. so today I started the tear down to remove the old clutch.. of course I only got as far as the rotors when I ran into a problem..I go to remove the two screw/bolts that hold the rotor to the.. knuckle? anyways I only got one off and the others wont budge.. the screwdriver spins itself out of the philips application before they budge ..the screwdriver is a perfect fit..but they are still starting to strip. ..so I dont know what else to do

this must have happened to some of you at one point or another.. please help!

also (this is all based off the assumption that these bolts need to be removed) but the rotors wont budge otherwise.. axle bolt is off

thanks!

its a penetrating lube.

Oh and you dont need to remove the rotor to get the axle out, I believe you can just loosen the knuckle so you can spin it out of the way , hopefully someone else can chime in with more details.

you need to use a impact screwdriver for that. why are you taking out the rotor to remove the transmission? you just have to remove the axle.

to replace the clutch the rotors don't even have to be removed. just pop both lower ball joints so yon can clear the axles once they are popped from the transmission. dont mess with rotors or axle nuts. just deal with ball joints. also if this a b sereies the half shaft will have to be removed also. after that remove tranny mount, t bracket, speedo sensor, drain tranny oil, disconnect reverse sensor, then all tranny bolts. while the tranny is out replace the throw-out and pilot bearings. also have a quality jack, extra set oh hands, and your favorite ipa to make the task less of a task lol
