Need to remove spindle nut to replace front rotors?
I'm in the process of replacing front rotors on my 99 DX. Drilled out the 2 rotor retaining screws, but the rotors still won't come off.
Do I need to remove the spindle nut to replace the rotor? Or is there another trick to getting the front rotors loosened up?
Thanks.

There are two threaded holes 90 degrees from the screws you drilled out. Find some bolts that will thead into the holes and screw them in until the rotor pops off.

hit the rotor with a BFH mallet type.

Uhhh, why did you drill the screws out? If you have an impact driver it only takes a small wack with a hammer and they pop right out. Were they stripped or something?

My first time using impact driver - managed to mess up the head on two of the screws, one came out easily, and another didn't move at all. A power drill with a cobalt bit worked well to mend that problem.
I picked up two 30mm 8x1.25 bolts from Home Depot and will use them in the other 2 holes to push the rotor out. Thanks everyone for the tips.

easy, hit the tops of the heads of the screws with a regular hammer. About a dozen or so whacks on each should do it. Just not so hard you damage anything. This will break the screws loose, then you can unscrew them regularly so you can re-use them.
