skunk 2 intake manifold problem need help!!!!!!!!!!!
well i put on a skunk 2 intake manifold today on my 94 gsr and im having some serious idle problems. the idle revs high at 1000 rpm then revs to 2500 rpm and then drops down to 1000 rpm and repeats this. there is no c.e.l unless i unplug the map sensor. any help would be greatly appreciated.
On the throtle body there is a flat head screw turn it a little bit at a time untill your idle drops around 8-900 rpms worked for me when i had the same prob.

or you did not clean the gasket off of the head and/or throttle body completely and you have a vacuum leak.<-----ive done this before.

ill definitely check the plugs to make sure there not reversed...i did a good job of cleaning off the gasket but you never know. if the tps and map plugs arent reversed ill check that second. thanks for the information

yeah its gotta be a vacuum leak. the tps and map plugs are definitely correct. now i just have to locate the source of the leak. someone was saying that the i.a.c valve might be the problem. tomorrow is a new day of trouble shooting
Start spraying down the IM gasket and throttle body gasket areas with carb cleaner to locate the leak. I once had a bolt on the bottom in the center that wasn't torqued properly cause a leak.
ok well i got rid of the idle fluctuation. now it just idles at a steady 1500 rpm. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my car idled perfect before the skunk 2 went on. at least now i got rid of the idle fluctuation but it still idles at a steady 1500 rpm. me and my friend cleaned the f.i.c.v and played with the little idle screw. maybe there is something we are over looking. i dont know. any help please. and yes i did a search but nothing very useful or anything that i haven't tried already. HELP!!!!!!!11
You probably have a vacuum leak or a throttle body that is not closing.
You will notice in your TB throat that there are three holes. They are for the idle screw, the IACV, and the FITV (OBD1). You can determine if you have a vacuum leak by removing the air intake and blocking those three holes. If the car keeps running, air is entering via a leak.

well i figure id let everybody know that i fixed my idle problem. the culprit was a vacuum due to the throttle body gasket. the throttle body gasket i received was for a obd2 car. i replaced it with a obd1 gasket and now its golden.
