Car not starting after conversion
Hi
I have just put a D16Y8 in my EK3 (1997) used to have a D15Z6 ( It is a UK car )
The problem i am having is that it is not starting
Turning over but not even trying to start
I am getting a CEL so i pulled to codes last night and got a
41 - Primary oxygen sensor - heater
I had to extend the wire for my o2 sensor but the wiring is fine.
It is only 1 wire though, should the y8 have a 4 wire sensor ?
Would this cause the engine not to start though
because from what i have read about other people having this problem, there car was still running
Another thing is the vacuum hoses, The y8 has a skunk 2 mani on it and the connections where totally different from mine.
I am 99% sure i have everything in the right place
But maybe not, would this cause the car not to start ?
Does anyone have any photos showing the vacuum connections on a skunk 2 mani ???
Cheers for any help

What ECU are you using with the Y8? Did you swap that?
Normally a Y8 uses a 4 wire O2 sensor. So your code 41 means that 2 of these wires are shorted.
Check your main ground that bolts up to the thermostat housing. Clean the contacts and make sure the connection is tight. A bad ground here will cause the symptoms you're having. Good luck.

ok i take that back
Cleaned up the thermostat ground but still no joy
checked all the fuses but they are fine
i really think it is some thing to do with my vacuum lines
still trying to find a good diagram showing me how to connect them

Got the car running !!!!!!
Changed my ECU over to my old one
and it started straight away !!
So must be the imob, going to have to get a key with a chip in it as i dont have one.
Is it okay to run it with my old ECU ( P2Y ) ???
Does the fact it is for a v-tec e engine make any difference ?
It aint running great but i am putting that down to the wrong ECU
Any way cheers for everyones help !!!!
