Default Muffler interchangeability??

Can I use a muffler for a 92-95 on a 97?
I know the 92-95 is shorter but it can be extended.

Idk if this helps but we but a vibrant exhaust on from a 95 coupe onto a 96 ek and it fit with no problems

It will work, but like you said, it's shorter. I have a '96-'00 muffler on my '94 hb right now. It rubs against my bumper all the time, and I had to cut off half of the tip as well.

Is there any good aftermarket mufflers that have baffles and flow directors inside?
Not looking for the N1 type but a real muffler that is not going to empty my pockets?

If you take it to a muffler shop then they can fab it so that your muffler wont come up short. But if you still want to buy a new one, you can buy a magnaflow muffler for about $60 on ebay. That's what I did and got a shop to make me custom piping for my muffler.

I understand your concern, but getting custom piping from a shop doesn't mean its going to be loud, probably the contrary. With going to a shop you can determine what size resonator you want to incorporate into your exhaust system. usually if you want a "quiet" exhaust your looking at paying over $400 or $500 when you can just go to a shop for less than $200 and have the same performance. But by buying a system you dont have to worry about noit knowing for sure how it will sound since there will be reviews on the product. Its up to you though. GL with your car

i would like not to have a free flow muffler as they tend to be much louder than baffled ones.
magnaflows are freeflow
