Default 02 sensor

If i have the y7 o2 sensor but i did a y8 head and intake manifold swap do i need a y8 o2sensor??

Which ECU are you using?

Use the one for whichever ECU you have - I believe there's a different model number in O2 sensors between VTEC and non-VTEC.

I assume since you have the Y8 head you have the Y8 ECU (P2P) (mini-me) so I'd go with the Y8 O2.

This thread is 8 years old and I haven't seen Syndacate in about 5 years. But to answer your question most including Y7 and Y8 work the same. The part numbers are different due to the length of wire between the sensor itself and the plug. Y5 is different though.
