Default New built motor, first start + first 1000 miles on stock injectors/ecu. Should i run wideband? to se

hey guys just wondering if its necessary for me to run my wideband so i can see the afr on my fresh built motor? Im gonna use stock injectors, fuel pump, ecu, as i wanna break it in without the turbo. Should the Air fuel ratio be pretty much like stock? or might it be really off and i should install wideband so i can see this?

now if its a good idea to install the wideband, im running stock header/exhaust, and only have 1 bung hole for the oem o2 sensor, if i put the wideband in there and not run the oem o2 sensor wont that [freak] things up?

thanks a lot guys!

I have read that a long time ago, the reason im "breaking it in" without a turbo is because i dont have the money right now for all the remaining turbo parts, but i wanna get the car on the road and start driving it.

what you need to do is get to tuning asap and go seat your rings before your motor has crappy compression. Get a good tune on it and then go out and go through the gears a few times letting it engine decelerate eash time all the way down instead of breaking. i started up my turbo build for the first time let it run for a little, changed the oil, and went out and beat on it with the pipe off the throttle body on stock injectors like it was all motor. rings seated awesome and the motor stayed strong and kept compression great. hope i helped

ya i read a LOT of articles on how to break a motor in properly, and thats exactly what im gonna do, except i cant get anything tuned since i dont even have the ecu or a few other turbo parts yet, hence i wanna run completely stock setup pretty much, except built motor/head, but im curious if its a good idea to have the wideband hooked up on a fresh start, on n/a motor, with stock ecu/stock injectors and almost stock cam.

Its always a good idea to have a wideband on a car, however for your situation it's not mandatory. Just watch the plugs...

thanks mtber

fresh motor TUNE IT? stock injectors/stock ecu/near stock cam/near stock CR, i dont think you have to tune it, ofcorse if i was running boost i would tow it to a dyno and break it in on there.
