Default Resurfacing Head

When resurfacing a head what needs to come off besides; valves, valve springs, and retainers?

All I did was remove the valvecover, sensors, and distributor. Took it to my machine shop and they did the rest. I believe they pulled out the camshaft so all the valves could be pushed up so they could shave it.

I see I was just curious, if you needed to remove the valve seats also. Did you tank your head or do they just clean it really good and give it back to you? I dislike having the idea of little metal shavings floating around.

Remove the dowel pin, remove the rotating valvetrain assembly, and you're set! All the valves will be up high enough to not be in the way. Surface away!

I didn't ask for it, but they hot tanked it. They said they do all they're cylinder heads when they machine them.
