Stuck in Gear
Was driving my 98 EJ8 with B18C Swap the other day and when I started it I noticed the clutch was sounding louder then normal. I needed to leave so i was just like [freak] it I'll be fine, took off and got like 20 miles from my house and came to a stop sign. When I took off I vtec'd 1st and went into 2nd as I started to go in 2nd it bogged way down and slowed down super fast almost like I pressed on the brakes super hard and then it jus tlike popped and i pushed the clutch in and coasted to a stop where the car died... Pushed the clutch in and the car started fine, put the shifter into the 1st gear position and it acted like I was trying to start out in like 3rd... Put the shifter into neutral position and let the clutch out and it still acted like I was in 3rd.. Had it towed home and now I drained the trans fluid and there are no metal shavings in it - Most likely going to pull the trans off tonight and see whats up.
Any Ideas?

Re: Stuck in Gear (98CivB18C)
Sounds like the clutch came apart or you have pressure plate issues.....but perhaps there is a linkage issue as well. Being that it's rod actuated linkage it should shift fine. I'd look at the linkage while having a friend try the shifter to make sure all is well there. I had a friend who lost part of the friction disc and it got lodged in the pressure plate causing similar issues. Good luck.
