Default Absolutely clueless: blower motor

The blower will not turn on under any circumstances.

OK, I have been trying to get this damn thing working for a month and I have no idea whatsoever. I have ripped apart my dash to get to it, taken it apart, bought a new motor altogether, checked the fuse 10 times, tested the fan switch on the CC which seems to work just fine.

I really do need to check if the power is getting there to the motor, but this still befuddles me.

There is one tiny little connector that is not connected and I cant figure out where it goes. I would explain it but I dont think that would do any good

ANy ideas at all? I am completely fed up here.

run a known good 12v and ground to the fan and make sure it works. than just get a dmm or something similar and start back probing

yea... get a car battery in the passenger foot well and run some wires directly to the motor and see if it works... if not, get a multi meter and start working backwards

is your blower resistor pack good? It is right behind the glove box... has two screws and an electrical connector. When you take it out, you'll see 3 or 4 wires of different sizes coiled up. Typically, the small wires (low fan speeds) burn out while the thicker wires (high speeds) remain working. If you don't have it hooked up at all, then there's your problem.

i had this problem...turns out i was checking the wrong fuse. on my car it's at the very end of the fusebox, not really next to the other fuses. you may be checking the right one, i just mention it as a thought.
definitely get a meter and a diagram of the circuit if you can, then start eliminating what it could be

Thanks guys. The blower doesnt work on any setting and the resistor looks alright, even though I will replace it anyway while i have it ripped apart. If this weekend is nice, Ill concentrate more on it.

Ill update this with any developments.

Thanks

Alright, everything works now.

Reason: no power. Checked EVERYTHING. Did not realize that the battery was too dead to give the blower motor any power. I knew it was dead from sitting in my driveway, but I figured the blower didnt use much power at all so at least it would move a bit. I was wrong. Got the battery fully charged and it worked like a charm. Got everything back together today (lots of parts to reassemble) and it works great.

Sorry I am a moron, but live and learn. Plus I feel like an expert on blower motors now

lol, dummy.

Sometimes it's the most obvious things that get overlooked.

I knew it was something stupid. I mean, its a blower motor. What could be wrong with it besides it not being plugged in or something. Either way, because i had it apart, I had a chance to replace the motor with a new one so itll run great for a while

BTW, I still have the old blower motor which works just fine if anyone is interested, PM me. (DONT DOCK ME POINTS)
