help with d16 swap!
I am in the middle of putting a d16z6 into my 93 del sol non vtec. Well i got it all in and bolted up, pluged up and tried to crank it over well i found i had no fuel pump and i jumped it over at the fuel injection relay and the pump kicked on so i replaced relay. Still no pump so started cheaking all work and found that the ecu wasnt sending a ground signal to the relay. So i thought the ecu was bad but i cheaked over everything again just to make sure cause i just bought the p28 for the swap. Well i found it wasnt the ecu it was the ground in the engine harnes to the thermostat housing not tight enough. So now that you know where im at. lol so i tried to crank it over again and wont do anything tried messing with timing just nothing. But if i spray starter fluid in the throtle body it wil bust off then die like its just burning starter fluid then dying so no fuel right??????? and fuel pump is working
yes i was getting spark and fuel to the rail but not spraying. i found out the del sol had a map sensor on the fire wall and the d16 had one on the throtle body so they were trying to work against eachother. I unplugged one and it started right up but now its reving to bout 2,000 rpm and going back down to bout 500 like a constant pulse ?????????
