I need some help? Got gas the other day the following day car began to choke out and die when you hit the gas. I added a fuel cleaner thinking bad fuel. When the car dies and you start it again after many cranks it will do it all over unless you get up to high rpm's No check engine light. its like its flooded. any ideas?
it could be alot of things ... doesnt have to br the fuel you got, it could have been the timing "coincidence". Check your plugs and wires, fuel pump, fuel reg, injectors etc. check all the basic fuel and fire options.
if the timing was off would it still drive? it only does this when I come to an idle or let it coast then try to accelerate it will choke out. It gets spark and the fuel pump works fine and the filter flows fine.
some say it will still run if off by a tooth maybe, im not an expert on timing, but i suppose it always is an option. Someone will know more then i will there.
is this the only problem, or is there smoke coming out of the exhaust as well? could be a coincidence and you blew a gasket. Is there a loss of power when you drive it?
