type r caliper question??????????

so i just picked up a 95 civic hatch with a 5 lug conversion i beleive the conversion was off a 2000 or 01 went 2 bleed the brakes and the nipple was stripped every shop said i need a new caliper my QUESTION IS i was told a early year tl or rl calapers r the same is this true? someone tell me what calipers compare 2 the type r so i can go to a local junk yard and pick them up

You can get the Legend calipers from a junkyard , and i believe they are better than the ITR caliper .

legend (certain years) is two piston as opposed to 1
If it's just the bleeder screws you could always just replace those instead of new calipers.

for the dual pistons... Dual piston calipers came on all 93-95 coupes and 94-95 GS sedans... GL finding them at a junkyard. they're not impossible to find, but they just don't come up that often.

ITR calipers have more clamping force, but IMO Legend calipers offer better modulation and more even pad wear.

I would just stick with the ITR caliper, Honda chose that for the R for some reason?
