Default 11:1 to high?

I have CP pistons 81.5 mm, 11.1 cr and will be on forged rods. So i did a little bit of searching, but couldnt come up with a complete answer. Is that compression ratio too high for daily boost? I have an OEM headgasket as well. My plans for psi on daily will be about 6 psi or so. With power goals at a max of 300-320whp.

I am currently looking for lower compression, but are hard to come buy cuz nobody wants to trade but if it comes down to it, i thought about keeping them. I just need to know if it would be safe or do-able. Thanks in advance for the imput!

you're going to have a lot of fun battling detonation. You'll really have to bump back timing to stop detonation, and it'll be very sensitive.

It can be done, but it has to be tuned perfectly.....

With the right fuel, you should have no problems making your power goal. Dont worry about the PSI needed to get to your goal, measure your goals in terms of whp instead. If you think 11:1 is too high, just look around the FI Forum and you'll find a 400whp stock block S2K. You could make your 300-320whp goal on pump gas and even more if you have access to E85.

Ok, thanks a lot guys. My main thing was figuring out about the whole detonation issue. Im doing my best to try and find lower compression pistons, but these came brand new in a deal i got with a b17 block for only $700. But Im going to keep searching and talk to my tuner to see what my options would be.

it's one thing if you already have the pistons in the block but it would be foolish to go with 11:1 just to save a few buck.
