hey guys quick question. i have a boosted y8 setup and the exhaust on it is pretty small (like 2-25 inch) from the turbo, all the way back. the car runs great but i want to put a 3 inch setup on it. can i do this without having to re-tune the car or will it run lean?

Since it will flow more air at the same psi (since your setup is now more efficient) you WILL run lean and WILL need to retune.

 

If you got the money retune.. If not you will be fine it shouldn't make that much of a differnce on you a/f.

 

yes, you will need a retune or a quick street tune. Bottom line you need to get tuned again.

 

alrighty thats what i figured, thanks for the help guys. any idea on how much power i should be able to pick up? the exhaust now is like 2.25 inside diameter all the way back to a rice can and the car is on 6 psi makin like 190whp

 

I'd say with a good tune, a fair guess would be 10whp or so. Your top end should be more solid.
