Default no oil but vtec?

i actually have oil, the title is more of an attention grabber but when i check my oil on the dipstick it never says its higher then the bottom of the dipstick with neither of the holes filled. so i went to change my oil and had exactly 4quarts come out of the motor?

is there a type of clog or common problem any one knows of or a simple solution to fix this?

The dip stick goes straight through it holder into the bottom of the motor so i dont see how it could be clogged, but maybe your dipstick for some reason isnt oem and long enough. Also, sometimes if you have new oil it can look as clear as water on the stick because of the sticks color. Is the stick dry, or can you not see the oil?

i just did my oil change and put in the exact amount, but my dipstick is reading way above the full line. Go figure...

Get a new dipstick for the motor from Honda, i guess

when did you check the oil?right after you ran the engine or after sitting for awhile? if the engine has just been running then oil will be all over the stick.
you could try looking through a junkyard for the same motor and check out the dipstick see if its different before you go buy a new dipstick for no reason

Civic Dipsticks are real hard to seat all the way down. I acutaly bought a new one thinking it was the wrong dipstick and it was the same. If you want it PM me.

dohc dipsticks are longer, deeper oil pans. they need more oil. d15-16 take 3.5 b series take 4-4.5.

mu last engine did the same. it liked to drink oil. the vtec would still kick in with low oil - to a point. that point was beyond the end of my dipstick. eventually the vtec will stop working. keep an eye on it though, I spun a bearing when vtec kicked in and I was low on oil.
