FITV vacuum at operating temp
Well I took off my FITV and cleaned it trying to troubleshoot some idle issues. One quick question. Is the FITV supposed to create a positive seal when it is closed? There is still a slight vacuum on the lower port in the throttle body when it is running at full temp. It is nowhere near the vacuum that is on the IACV port, I just would like to know if its normal that it leaks a little.

Re: FITV vacuum at operating temp (wondersparrow)
from all of the research i have done it is supposed to be a complete seal, i have a 93 sol as well, and its valve has a slight leak too, however, the only problem i can see from the valve operation, is a very occasianal only on a warmish start up the idle will jump, then fall once, i am too lazy to fix the valve, becuase i want to replace the seals where it attaches to the throttle body. but i believe that yes it is supposed to be a seal, in the honest truth thought, is if it does, the idle air control valve is just pulsed with a slower less demanding duty cycle to make up for it, so i leaveit alone

Thanks. I really didnt want to take it off again. the seals were all dried up and useless, so I used gasket maker in their place. it would have been a pain, hehe.
