Default Vtec Crossover when cruising.

I am well aware that GSR Vtec crosses over at 4400 RPMS and the IAB's are enabled at 5750. My question is , does Vtec only crossover at WOT or under heavy load , or does it enable at 4400 regardless of how hard your acceleration is. Im curious because If im cruising at 90 on the freeway , I would be at 4500 rpms and just wasting gas, any help is appreciated , Thank you.

90 mph is hardly cruising, and throttle position doesnt matter, its still gonna engage @ 4400

i would also like to know because at around 85ish to 90 the tach is right around 4400rpm. I thought one of the things that decided whether or not VTEC engaged was throttle position.

with neptune you can have pressure sensitive vtec where you have to have 75% throttle for it to engage, that way you can really mess with peoples minds
im not shore if others like hondata have that option or not

thatd be a pretty cool option to have.....my vtec hits goin a tad over 80mph which anything over will dump gas.

i guess vtec controller would help with this situation.

Thanx for the info , for some reason I had heard vtec only kicks in at 4400 under heavy load and at 4850 under normal load , i guess that was a crock of poop.
